Ngaio Marsh
When Ann asked me how to pronounce Ngaio Marsh's first name I went to Google and got it right away. It's "nio" as in "bio". It turns out that Marsh isn't Chinua Achebe's ("chin WA a CHAY bay") countryman nor is she a 'he' as I thought. I went to the C/WMARS website and clicked on online resources then reference databases, then Galegroup databases, then entered my library card number, chose Powersearch then biography resource center and searched by name. Marsh is the author of 32 mystery novels which are recognized as some of the finest in the genre. She has been compared with Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayer and Margery Allingham. Tilton owns two of her books and we just borrowed an Inspector Alleyn 4 disc DVD series from the bookmobile which is what started this whole thing rolling. Ann can tell us about that, including how to pronounce Alleyn. Ann?
